Eligibility

Open to anyone passionate about cooking, whether you are a home cook, culinary enthusiast, or professional.

Recipes do not need to be of Sri Lankan origin. As long as they are created in a Sri Lankan home and incorporate local ingredients, flavors, or techniques, they qualify for submission.

Recipe Submission

Approved applicants will receive the Recipe Submission Form and Recipe Preparation Workbook On The 14th June 2025.

Recipes must be submitted between 16th June & 25thY July 2025.

Submissions must include a complete ingredient list, precise measurements, detailed cooking instructions, and optional images.

All entries must be original creations or adaptations with documented permission.

Judging and Evaluation

Recipes will be reviewed based on authenticity, innovation, clarity, and cultural significance.

Selected recipes will undergo panel tastings between 25th July and 30th August 2025.

The judging panel consists of culinary experts and industry professionals.

Selection and Awards

Shortlisted contributors will be announced on 22nd September 2025.

The Editor’s Choice Award will be given to one standout recipe demonstrating exceptional creativity and cultural resonance.

The Editor’s Choice winner will receive a culinary tour of Singapore, including a Michelin-starred dining experience.

Publication and Rights

Selected recipes will be published in Feels Like Home, set for release in December 2025, with an official launch date to be announced.

Vara Dara reserves the right to edit, refine, and format recipes for publication while preserving the contributor’s creative intent.

Contributors will be credited in the cookbook.

General Terms

Submission fees are non-refundable unless stated otherwise.

By submitting a recipe, contributors agree to the competition guidelines and permit Vara Dara to use their recipe in print and promotional materials.
